STRESS-LESS CHRISTMAS SERIES

It's that time of year again! A time to beat the Christmas rush at the malls, setting up the Christmas trees, hanging all that tinsel and lights, Christmas parties after Christmas parties....oh, the madness with such a short amount of time to get it all done! This year, Pastor William wants to dig in on having a "Stress-less Christmas" while celebrating the greatest gift we will ever receive, Jesus Christ!

Sun. Dec. 14 - "The Relational Stress Of Christmas"

What We're Reading As Leaders-IT

Currently our leadership team at ABF is reading "IT", by Craig Groeschel. How churches and leaders can get it and keep it.

Here are some of my favorite quotes from "IT".

If a person truly has it, they can't keep it to themselves.

It can't be taught, but it can be caught.

When a church has it, crativity flows.

When a ministry has it, everyone can usually feel it, but they have trouble describing it.

God creates it but we must work with it.

There's a hugh difference between a good ideal and a God ideal.

People are attracted to a God-sized vision.

Those who have it stick with what brings it. If you have it, guard it.

The issue is always, only, fully, clearly, uncompromisingly, and exclusively Jesus.

For the church to have it, the staff (or volunteers) will likely have it first. As it goes with the leaders, so it goes with the whole organization.

An Independent ministry mindset kills it.

Teams with it look for excuse to celebrate.

Teams without it avoid conflict.

Innovative believers tend to have it.

Those without it tend to criticize those with it.

When you innovate, you've got to be prepared for everyone telling you you're nuts.

Those with it grow even more passionate about reaching people.

Ministries with it fail often, they are lead by thick-skinned people.

Failure is the tuition you pay for success. Walter Brunell (Wow!)

As you seek God He rekindles It in your heart.

Go on failing. Go on. Only next time, try to fail better.

Don't let yesterday's loss talk you out of tomorrow's win. Try Again.

Those who have it fail often.

When you have it, people tend to want it.

If you keep it you wil lose it, but if you share it the more of it God gives to you.

You have more in you than you realize. Ask God to stretch you and let Him.

God makes it available to anyone who wants it.

May your ministry find it and never lose it.

New Message Series, iDANCE-I Hope You Dance

What gift has God given you? God has entrusted to you talents and abilities that you should be using for His purposes. But remember, when you take a step of faith, the fear of failure might creep up on you, as it does with most people. Let God turn your fear into faith. Instead of becoming a hesitant Christ-follower, ask God to make you a bold and aggressive servant in the local church. So the next time you get the choice to sit it out or dance, I hope you DANCE!

Don't miss this power message entitled, "Stuck On Stupid" a message that will show you how not to lose yourself when you fall in love. Falling in love is a beautiful thing but it should never take the place of loving Jesus. Jesus should always be our first love.

What We're Reading As Leaders

All Key Leaders are reading Andy Stanley's soon to be a classic, "Making Vision Stick".

Here's my favorite quote from the book, "Living out the vision establishes credibility and makes you a leader worth following. When people are convinced that the vision has stuck with you, it is easier for them to make the effort to stick with vision."

Our Marketing Team is reading, "Church Marketing 101" by Richard L Reising.

Here's my favorite quote from the book, "Branding is not just design. It is not a logo. It is not a letterhead. It is the sum perception you create in the mind of those with whom you are trying to connect. "

Our Pastoral Team is reading "Fusion" by Nelson Searcy.

Here' s my favorite quote from the book, "It doesn't matter how well you preach or how passionate your worship team is-if your newcomers do not find relationships (Community Life Group) and take on responsibility (Ministry) within the church, they will not stay long."

Our Lead Pastor(that's me yall) is always reading the Bible and "The Purpose Driven Church".

Here' my favorite quote from the book, "Saddleback Church held its first public service the following Sunday, Easter, April 6, 1980. Two hundred five people showed up to attend. We had caught a wave. I will never forget the feeling of watching all those people I'd never seen before walking up the sidewalk to the Laguna Hills High School Theater. With a mixture of excitement, fear, and awe I said to Kay, This is really going to work!" Pas. Rick Warren.

ABF Brown T-shirts

ABF 2008 Brown T-shirt has been selling off the charts. We are preparing for our third order in just six months of releasing it. It's another testimony of God's faithfulness to our ministry. Many ABFers take pride in wearing their Brown T's. Trutees and Pastor Steve Taylor did the design and I highly recommend his company. Check out more of their work at http://www.trutess.com/
